Planning a wedding is a little bit like orchestrating a circus – you have to manage a bunch of moving pieces and bring them all together at the right time. Arranging for a wedding tent is one of the major pieces and once you have it done, you’ll feel a little more prepared. You can also, often, bundle other services in with the tent, making the entire process easier to plan.
Since the a tent may be one of the biggest parts to your overall wedding plan, you might be wondering how much it will cost you. Here are a few tips for helping you estimate, prepare for, and, even possibly, minimize the rental cost of a tent for your wedding.
How Much are Wedding Tents to Rent?
If you’re wondering how much it costs to rent a tent for a day, the quick answer is, it varies. Like most costs associated with weddings, how many guests you’re having can impact the tent sizing and number of tents needed. Other factors, such as whether you opt for niceties like a liner, pole drapes, tent sidewalls, and flooring, will also impact the total cost of the tent. As a result, the cost can range from $135 per day for a small event tent all the way up to tens-of-thousands for an elaborate. The average tent rental cost for weddings tends to be from $1,500 to $4,000 per day. Check out some of our most popular tent options below.

How to Estimate Costs
Before you can estimate how much your tent for the big day will cost, you need to know approximately how many people will be attending. Of course, it’s impossible to know how many people will accept the invitation, so start with the full guest list to play it safe.
Next, you’ll need to estimate how much square footage you’ll need. Multiply the number of people in attendance by 18 for a seated dinner with a dance floor, by 12 for a seated dinner at round tables, or by 10 for a seated dinner at banquet tables. For example, for 100 guests you’ll need 1,800, 1,200, or 1,000 square feet, respectively.
Once you know how much space you need, you can start shopping for a tent. Multiply the length and width of the tent to find the total square footage, and make sure you’ll have enough space for everyone. For instance, our 40′ x 40′ frame tent costs $1,190 (not including delivery) and offers 1,600 square feet of space, which would be enough room for 130 guests at a sit-down dinner or 88 guests at a seated reception with a dance floor.
