People have been gathering since the dawn of time to share in rituals and traditions. As long ago as 40,000 years ago, we have proof that our ancestors gathered in the name of advanced rituals around the changing of seasons, births and deaths, honoring of gods and more (Norway 2006). Exactly why is gathering for ritual and tradition, especially during holiday times. such a lasting exercise for humans? Anthropologists may have some ideas.
